Townhomes at Stonehedge
Condo Living
The Stonehedge II Townhomes is a condominium community. Owning ahome in a condominium is different than more traditional forms of home ownership. How so? An easy but oversimplified explanation is that, as unit owners, we own our homes from the studs in, the Homeowners’ Association owns everything from the studs out. That is why the association, not the individual unit owner, is responsible for things like the roofs over our heads, gutters and downspouts, lawn care, snow removal, and so much more.
We are a collective community. Step in through your front door - what you see belongs to you. Step out of your front door - our homeowners’ association owns everything you see. We own it collectively. The yards in front of and behind our homes are not ours individually; they are ours collectively. The legal term for the collectively owned property is “common elements.”
Generally speaking, unit owners may not alter or modify the outsides of the outsides of their homes. If you would like to make a change you must receive permission from our Homeowners’ Association Board of Directors. Our Association’s governing documents provide guidance to the Board as it makes its decisions.
Members of our community recveive a copy of our governing documents when they purchased their homes. You can find links to those documents on the on the documents page.
